Another gulf oil rig explodes...

One person was injured after an explosion on an oil production platform in the Gulf of Mexico, about 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay, the U.S. Coast Guard said.


Jindal said there are 100 barrels of oil in storage on the platform, and the company believes this is what's burning, not an active leak. But he emphasized that those reports come from Mariner Energy, and they had not yet been independently verified.
